  • This year, I started out feeling anxious and discouraged about my goals. It Is now the end of the season and my horse, Isaak, and I were Oregon Dressage Society first and second level champions, USDF Region 6 first level and first level freestyle champions and we qualified for are now heading to Kentucky for the national dressage finals. I just want to say thank you so much for everything you’ve done for me. I have found ways to manage my stress and anxiety in more than just riding and I truly would not have been able to achieve these things without your help. I always feel like you are open to the things I say and excited to see... Continue Reading

  • I’ve had so many results from coaching with Jen that here are too many to list. She has helped me in instrumental ways with my riding as well as with college, life and career choices. If I had to choose one main result though, I would choose getting my love for riding back. I truly enjoy this sport again and that is 100% a result of working with Jen. She helped me work though my mental and emotional issues that were causing me to lose my enjoyment for the sport. I now do not have extreme anxiety when it comes to riding, competing and the things I cannot control. I now take things in stride, enjoy the moment while it... Continue Reading

  • Admittedly, my coaching with Jen as not YET led to an array of blue ribbons but it has led to some things I’d argue are far more important: acceptance and integrity. Jen has taught me how to accept my mistakes and flaws and the disappointment that seemed to be getting thrown at me too often. In the short three months I’ve been working with Jen she has helped me set attainable goals to work toward and directed me in achieving them. Additionally, when given the opportunity at shows, she has analyzed my riding and collaborated with my trainer to help us develop priorities and a better connection between my horse and myself. I've never been the bravest or most outgoing... Continue Reading

  • My daughter, Ashley, worked with Jen to overcome the stress and anxiety that comes with riding and competing at the upper levels in eventing. My husband and I noticed great improvements in Ashley’s ability to reason and cope with anxiety regarding her horse’s health and in other areas of her life. It has made a tremendous impact on our family’s life in so many ways! Ashley has gained tools to deal not only with pressure related to riding but with other things that come up in life as well. Her partnership with her horse has strengthened and she is enjoying competing again. Jen is very approachable and encouraging while still holding Ashley accountable to herself. Thank you, Jen, for your... Continue Reading

  • I signed up for coaching with Jen because I wanted to set a goal to go to the Jr. Dressage Seat Equitation Finals at Lamplight. I accomplished that goal and performed my best there but I also have gotten so much more. I have definitely become more independent and I have better time management and planning skills. I am more confident in preparing myself both before and during shows. Jen is very personable, warm and inspiring. She has given me the tools and skillsets to become a more confident rider. Where I had barriers before, I now have the ability to remove them and replace them with successes! It’s super empowering to have a coach like her.

  • As a competitive young rider it was all too easy to become overly focused on the competitive aspects of our sport. I sought out a coach at the request of my trainer and parents. I was seriously struggling to manage my emotions and it was making me miserable and stopping me form progressing in my riding. Through my coaching experience with Jen, I have gained significant emotional and life perspective. I now have the ability to find the success and growth that is provided when what can often be seen as a “failure ” happens. In our sport you can never expect your plans to go perfectly. Performance coaching has allowed me to be better prepared when my plans fall... Continue Reading
